A Mid-East Feast: An Edible Mosaic {Giveaway Closed}
Did you think we’d cook through Faith’s book and not offer a copy to you? That’d be silly.
I sure hope you didn’t miss a single recipe but here’s a brief recap for you…
We made fritters. Savory pancakes made of zucchini and onion, held together by eggs. Seriously easy to make and perfect for both breakfast or an appetizer.
We made quite possibly one of my favorite chicken dishes to date. No, I’m not even kidding. Tender spiced chicken strips layered with tangy pickles and mayonnaise on soft pita bread to create a delicious Middle-Eastern wrap.
And we finished with what others say was an amazing dessert and due to my own ingredient issues… not the best result. Totally blaming the ingredients. Totally. Had I been able to find, at the very least, semolina flour the result would have been far better. Yes, I know it can be ordered but the cost of shipping didn’t seem worth it to me at the time. Oh how wrong I clearly was. Make this… with semolina and you’ll have perfect results.
I want to make this
And this. Yes, I know that’s weird because I don’t like tomatoes but it just looks so fun!
I love that every recipe in this book has a picture. What is a cookbook without pictures?! We eat with our eyes first. So, thank you Faith for providing beautiful pictures to accompany every recipe you’re sharing with the world.
At the very end, Faith even offers a list of Middle Eastern grocery stores. This section is the only one I would change. I’d prefer the locations broken up by state or region instead of just country. It’d be easier to sort though. Not a deal breaker kind of issue and maybe a non-issue to most.

I still need to make those wraps, I am adding them to next week’s menu as we speak! My favorite Middle-Eastern food is probably falafel but truthfully, I haven’t tried that many.
I love all exotic foods — right now I can’t think of a favorite middle eastern food – my mind is numb – so much suffering here in the NYC area with the hurricane – if I don’t win – I have this book on my Christmas list! Thank you.
