I’m thankful for the health and well being of my family. You are absolutely right, it would be nice to pay this forward and I have a couple of people in mind. We actually don’t usually have a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving. We run a Turkey Trot on that morning and its easier to prepare an Italian dinner, I usually make up a lasagna a day ahead.

last year for Thanksgiving I was in the hospital on “nothing by mouth”. It had already been for 6 days and I would be on nothing by mouth for a total of 3 weeks and in the hospital for 4 weeks. Finally in July the surgeon said he was not sharpening his scalpel; I was totally healed and he would not need to do a second surgery. I am happy to be healthy and home for Thanksgiving this year.

My son is away at college, and I look forward to reconnecting to him over his fall break.

I am most thankful to have a year old granddaughter and a grandson on the way, ensuring that our family bloodline continues another generation. Sounds corny but a lot of my friends children have decided not to have kids and that would have broken my heart. Lucky to have a son who feels the same way I do.

I am thankful for so much this year. Our youngest is having a great first year in college. The middle kid, who is Autistic, got his first job and can handle being on his own for 4 or 5 days (we have great friends down he street who check in on him when we are gone) and I’ve been able to travel more with my hubby to the National Parks here in Texas while he is overseeing construction projects.
