Slow Cooker Beef and Bean Chili

This easy and hearty slow cooker beef and bean chili is perfect cold weather comfort food! Add this to your game day plans or for dinner any night of the week!

  • 1 lb ground beef cooked and drained
  • 1 C yellow onion chopped
  • 1 C green bell pepper chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 15 oz black beans drained and rinsed well
  • 15 oz kidney beans drained and rinsed well
  • 15 oz petite diced tomatoes undrained
  • 12 oz tomato sauce
  • 2 Tb chili powder
  • 1 Tb cumin
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 C chicken broth

Optional toppings:

  • shredded cheese
  • jalapeno slices
  • green onions


  • Cook and drain ground beef. Add to the bowl of a 5-6 quart slow cooker, along with remaining ingredients. Gently stir to combine. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours, or low for 8 hours. 
  • Serve with optional shredded cheese, jalapeno slices or green onions. 


Serves roughly 6-8.
