A Holiday Recap

Are you still looking for some ideas to make for Christmas? It’s less than a week away! Maybe you have a handful of items ready to go or maybe you’re one of those people who hasn’t even started planning what to make yet. It’s okay! There is still time to make some really delicious treats. I promise. If you have a few hours to spare over the next week, you can absolutely have some amazing items to share with family and friends.

I had so many ideas to bake and share but when it came down to it, I just couldn’t bake and eat that much. No, as a food blogger I generally don’t eat 100% of what I make. A lot is shared with family and friends or the Mr brings some to work. Often times I cut the recipes way down so we don’t have a ton of leftovers. Even so, baking several dessert type items a week for both November and December can be very daunting. I simply do not want that many sweets in the house. On the up side, this means plenty of ideas to reserve for next year.

From cupcakes to cookies, fudge and beyond… I’ve got you covered. Each recipe is equally delicious in their own ways. Some require more time than others but overall these are all extremely easy recipes. Many are even very kid friendly… Get the kids involved with rolling the snickerdoodles in the sugar mixture, cutting out shapes in the gingerbread dough or smashing and sprinkling the crushed candy canes over the peppermint bark. If you have a little kitchen helper there is always a way to include them in almost any recipe.

Sweet treats:

Gingerbread Cupcakes
Gingerbread Cookies
Cranberry Swirl Cookies
Peppermint Bark
Cranberry Orange Pinwheels
Snickerdoodle Cookies

Easy Fudge
Apple Cranberry Squares

Christmas morning:

Orange Rolls
Apple Cinnamon Sticky Buns
Apple Coffee Cake Muffins
Breakfast Potatoes

The picture of snowflake shaped cookie is a wonderful symbol of the season. I am bake out at this point, but with so much packed away in the freezer I will be enjoying it for a good long time!
