Barbecue Chicken French Bread Pizza

A quick and tasty recipe for pizza night! Thick and crusty French bread, topped off with sweet barbecue sauce, lightly seasoned chicken and mozzarella cheese. Your favorite pizza made even easier.

I like playing around with different crust options for pizza, while staying relatively boring and not changing up my personal toppings much. I pretty much stick to pepperoni, bacon, barbecue chicken or a combination thereof. My favorite crust to date has been a nice semi-thin crust. Not too thin or thick, just right. But then again… thin could be totally amazing too if done right. I just need to find the perfect recipe to try. Many recipes claim to be super thin crust and flat out aren’t. I’m still on the hunt for that.

But it hit me the other day that I’d never made French bread pizza. It’s so simple and requires no major effort on my part, kind of like English muffin pizzas. And because it’s so simple, it’s the perfect after school snack, party dish or dinner for any night of the week.

French bread pizza is thick and crusty while tender on the inside. Sweet barbecue sauce and lightly seasoned chicken are topped off with shredded mozzarella, then baked until hot and bubbly. The sweetness of the sauce pairs great with the slight kick from the black and cayenne peppers.

Add onions to that list and you and I are totally on the same page when it comes to pizza toppings! I wish I could grab a slice of that through the screen to save for lunch today :)

Your bbq chicken french bread pizza looks wonderful. I like the idea of using different options for the pizza crust, something that I really don’t do. I’m thinking that a sour dough bread would make a great pizza crust too.

Your topping options aren’t that boring. I’m a pepperoni only type of girl and I stubbornly refuse to try it any other way.

And that melty cheese! You’re like a cheese and carbs specialist.

This has been one of my go-to easy dinners lately! Even I want to feel healthy, I use a portobello instead of french bread, but just as quick and easy!

I managed a decent enough snack with regular sandwich bread, shredded turkey, shredded cheddar and a little bbq sauce thanks to this post. Heated it up in the microwave and it wasn’t bad :) Just wish I could make it as yummy as the picture looks!
