Garlic Bread

I love bread. I don’t care if it’s technically not awesome for you. It’s yummy, especially slathered in butter. I’d happily eat that as a snack, or an occasional meal when I don’t want something big. Give me two, or an occasional three nice slices of Italian bread and coat that sucker up in butter. Don’t skimp out. Outside of the bread being super soft and fresh (homemade or not), the next most important part is the butter.

Sometimes you want something different and that’s when garlic bread is perfect. A little something extra added to the already perfect snack or side… or meal. This is one of those times it’s totally okay to change the already perfect item. Because yes, bread and butter is perfect but this dresses it up. And it’s shockingly easy!

Okay so the first time I attempted homemade garlic bread (this method) I was multi-tasking with dinner. Too many things going on at once that were suppose to be done at the same time. I swear I don’t usually have these kinds of issues but bread is finicky and if you aren’t paying close attention to it… well let’s just say the outcome isn’t pretty. I didn’t bother to eat it. I tossed it with a pout and a few pathetic tweets. I’m not alone. We all have our disasters but it seems that much worse when it’s something you really were looking forward to and hoping to turn out fantastic.

On the bright side, the next time I made it the final product was fantastic – thus the post! I want to share yummy food and recipes, not failures. Failures make us human but who wants to see someone else’s burnt garlic bread? Not appetizing. This garlic bread is slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. A perfect blend. It’s truly delicious and very easy. Best of all – it’s great even after it’s been sitting out for a while. Oh and great for a big dinner! A little messy, but when you get over that … the taste totally makes up for any mess you may experience while eating it. Just be sure to have some napkins or wet wipes on hand. Don’t let that deter you from making it.

Bread is my favorite thing in the world. Even more my favorite with garlic on it. I wish I could grab a piece out of my computer screen!

Love homemade garlic bread! Did you use fresh parsley or dried?

I used dried. I have this weird thing about fresh herbs – I hate the feel and smell while chopping them. Plus dried lasts so much longer.

Bread has to be good for you, my 2 year old thrives on hardly anything but :s

I have a foccacia obsession these days and now want to smother one in some roasted garlic. Dayum.

This looks fantastic! I love bread, too. I don’t understand people that avoid it. Bread and garlic together? Bring it. I’ll eat it morning, noon and night!

It’s easy and so addictive. We can clean the pan (2 of us) in a meal if we don’t use some restraint. There is a basic recipe on my blog which is adapted from The Mixer Bible. I need to move on to something new… I have a braided pesto bread planned for sometime this week (hopefully).

LOL – Things can get ugly fast when broiling… nothing worse than a scorched loaf of garlic bread — especially yours; it looks fabulous!

I remember once river-rafting with friends and afterward we went out to dinner. We had worked up such an appetite that before dinner even started, we had inhaled two huge orders of garlic bread. And we were four petite women! LOL But who can resist garlic bread, especially one that looks as awesome as this.
