Homemade Taco Seasoning from bakedbyrachel.com

I love taco night. It’s easily one of my favorite meals. I love it so much that we sometimes have it weekly but usually I try to spread it out to every other week. It’d be a shame to get sick of tacos, not that I think that’s really possible. Crunchy, soft or even as a salad, I love them all. Load mine up with extra cheese and lettuce, I’m a happy girl.

For ages I’ve meant to whip up my own batch of taco seasoning but time would escape me or I’d simply forget. In a fix I’d just grab a package or two of premade seasoning while at the store. Finally I put this on my recipe to-do list as a reminder. Even with that plan, I still cheated. I know it’ll happen again. It’s like frosting and cupcakes, sometimes you just want a quick cheater box or jar option. It’s easy and quick, but… homemade is always so much better.

The same goes for seasoning. The reason why I love this is because you can easily adjust it to your own preferences. If you want it spicier, add some cayenne or more red pepper flakes. Maybe heat isn’t your thing, cut back on some of the hotter items or leave red pepper flakes out completely. I’m a firm believer nearly any recipe can be and should be adjusted to your own style of eating and preferences.
