On The 9th Day of Christmas…A Crock-Pot Giveaway Closed!

I love my slow cooker. I probably wouldn’t have played around creating as many scrumptious soups, chilis and chowders if I didn’t have one. They just make life so much easier, even if I happen to be home while it’s cooking away. I prefer it to do the slaving away for me. While some recipes require a little more prep, the end result is always worth it. A huge bonus to slow cooking, the amazing aromas that fill the entire house… and even outside if I happen to have my oven or laundry vents on!

Many days the Mr will come home and say he could smell what’s cooking down into the basement or even outside, total torture but a nice way to be welcomed home as well! I enjoy making large batches of comforting dishes to enjoy during the colder months, which tend to be a good part of the year living in New Hampshire.

Until now, I’ve never thought to take my slow cooker to family gatherings. We have a decent distance to travel to reach any of them so I’d fear the precious ingredients leaking out or even worse, the entire slow cooker toppling over and ending up everywhere. Both are undesirable. So, when Crock-Pot offered me the chance to try out their Cook & Carry model, I was intrigued!

While I didn’t take it on an excursion with lots of turns and bumpy roads, I did test it out in my own kitchen. This particular model offers hinged clamps and a seal around the lid. This is not only a great feature to keep food warmer longer, but it also helps prevent spills and keeps the lid securely in place! This model also has build in heat gage. This allows you to monitor how warm your food is when traveling or unable to find an open outlet. The Crock-Pot Cook & Carry also features a digital countdown timer, warm setting, large carry handles and cord storage.

And if you love taking soup on the go, you should absolutely get one of these Crock-Pot lunch crock and food warmers. I know it’s on my list to pick up!

I have wanted a slow cooker for so long…I think first and foremost I would make those Buffalo Chicken Stuffed Shells or the Buffalo Chicken Dip. The Lobster Chowder looks incredible, and I have always wanted to try making Breakfast Potatoes in a slow cooker as well!
