Homemade peppermint hot chocolate with peppermint whipped cream. Recipe from @bakedbyrachel The perfect drink for winter!

We’ve been soaking up the Christmas movies and holidays specials lately. I figure, watch them while it’s the right season because once January 1st hits, we shift gears. I’m not saying I put away decorations right away. On the contrary, it takes me a big before putting everything away. I think it’s more of a chore to take down and put away than to take out and put up, so I put that off when possible.

But movies and shows… January means Christmas is behind us and seasonal entertaining waits another eleven and months or so.

I’m a huge fan of newer movies like Elf and The Santa Clause movies, but my new love is Miracle on 24th Street. I never saw the original growing up, or if I did I don’t remember it and clearly wasn’t into it. But I love the 90s version. So many touching and sweet moments. I just love how Christmas movies make you want to believe, not just in Santa Claus but in the spirit of the holidays, giving, happiness etc etc.

Do you have a favorite Christmas movie?

For as long as I can remember I’ve been a fan of hot chocolate. Growing up we’d come in from shoveling the driveway or playing in the snow to have warm hot chocolate waiting for us. Creamy hot chocolate simmering away on the stove. A kids dream, especially completely covered with marshmallows! Marshmallows are pretty much a must.

I decided it was finally time to share a homemade version. A super easy, creamy and delicious hot chocolate that anyone can make! Just 5 simple ingredients and not a packet or powder mix in sight!

    Hi Rachel,

This sounds and looks so good, I can almost taste it! As far as Christmas movies go, my favorite is Elf. In fact, my husband and I got our daughter’s name from it, Jovie! Thanks for the great recipe and have a wonderful holiday season!

Yum! Peppermint hot chocolate is the best, I love adding in peppermint to my hot chocolate too. So much better than plain hot chocolate. Although I wouldn’t say no to a mug of that either! :)
