Apple A Day Party 2013: Week 2
It’s been another week and plenty has happened. Like how last weekend I was stung or bit by something and it’s still itchy. I can’t tell if there’s a stinger or anything. I sure hope not and I definitely hope it gets better soon! Really weird. And it happened so fast I have no idea what it was that caused the issue! Oy… Only me!
Julie and I kicked off our long distance buddy workouts this week. Basically we’re harassing each other at the crack of dawn a few days a week to make sure the other is up and ready to workout. It’s worked out really well so far! I only wish my mental clock wasn’t broken and always waking me up 15+ min before I’m suppose to be up. And that’s not even just on those days, but any day. I can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to sleep. I just want to sleep until I have to be up. Is that too much to ask? I’m guessing it is. Also, working out with an iPad kind of rocks because I can catch up on shows or movies while still working out. I’ve decided to give Friday Night Lights a try. Were you a fan of the show? I’m only a few episodes in but so far so good!
2.5 out of the 5 of us had annual visits this week. I say 2.5 because my oldest tagged along (okay really, she didn’t have a choice) to get her flu mist since we were going to be there anyway. I’m sort of hoping I can get the flu mist at the pharmacy because I totally don’t like shots. I handle them okay but if there’s an easier alternative, why not go that route? Right? So, do you get the mist or shot? Or are you one of those people who doesn’t get a flu shot for one reason or another?
And shocker here… I went to the apple farm again! It’s going to easily be a once a week thing until the season is completely over.
Now let’s get down to business… What did you miss this week?! Hopefully nothing! But just in case, here’s a happy little recap.
Tracey kicked things off with a seriously gorgeous apple spice layer cake with goat cheese frosting. I want a slice! Don’t you?
Thanks to Julia, now you can enjoy apple cheddar drop biscuits in under 30 minutes! How awesome is that?
Rachel of Rachel Cooks says her apple cheesecake shortbread cookies are basically slice and bake cheesecake! Crispy, sweet and a definite must make!
I’ve seriously never wanted a pretzel more in my life and I have Tieghan to thank for that! Check out her caramelized apple and cheddar cheese pretzels! She even paired them with apple cider dipping sauce.
A sweet break for the week, Gina fixed up a roasted beet and apple salad for us to enjoy! She even whipped up some homemade honey mustard dressing too! Seriously, next to bacon, apples on a salad is just pure genius.
My cinnamon apple hand pies were rounding out the week’s recipes. Seriously, if you love pie but you hate making it or you just want an easier alternative – this is totally for you! They’ll disappear before your eyes, so you might want to make a double batch.
Lastly… there are TWO giveaways going on! Just a reminder, be sure you’re reading the giveaway instructions. I’d hate for you to be disqualified for any reason.
