Happiness

I’ve been a tad under the weather lately, so no new recipe today but I have plenty of things in mind I’ll get to work on asap! I promise I won’t leave you hanging too long. Since I can’t share any yummy goodness with you, I thought I’d share a few things that make me happy. I’d love to hear a random thing or two that makes you happy as well!

And by no means are these the only items that make me happy. They’re just some of the random items that cheer me up or that I long for the day I can finally have again.

-Blue raspberry coolatta’s from Dunkin Donuts. They make me wait all winter for it. It’s heavenly. If you like slush puppies or other frozen fruity drinks – this is a must try.

-Friendly’s Wattamelon roll ice cream *drool* It’s a seasonal item so come Fall I get sad that I have to wait until sometime in March or April to finally see it on the shelves again. It’s amazing. Some disagree but they’re wrong.

-Bright bold color! In the yard that is. This one is already gone but it’ll be back next year and hopefully with some matching playmates.

-Homemade margaritas. So delicious. So depressing I can’t have one but I will sooner than later I hope. They do make me happy though, especially the more I drink them. They’ll have the same effect on you. I promise. Go. Make them now.

-Candy. I have a bit of an obsession. I could name off loads of my favorites and they’re all just that – my favoritedepending on what day it is… chewy lemonhead friends, sour patch kids, sour balls, 3 musketeers, junior mints… and the list goes on. I won’t bore you with listing every possible candy I could devour right now. It’d probably drive me mad and scare you off.

-Smelling candles. I don’t mean just any candles. I mean those pricier than average fruity smelling jar candles. Wow. Certain ones are seriously intoxicating. I think I have the same problem with a certain brand of foaming hand soaps.

-Red squirrels. We don’t see them much. Okay, this is actually the first time in our 2 years living here that I’ve seen one. But this little guy made me happy, if even just for a short while. Grey squirrels are the more common and boring variety.

-Arby’s fries. The curly ones only though. They make me happy but right now they make me sad because the only one nearby closed and the next closest is probably well over an hour away. I know, I’m complaining about fast food but really…these fries are so good and there just isn’t a suitable substitution anywhere.

-Chipmunks. As long as I forget they’re basically a rodent, I think they’re cute and fun to watch and listen to. Yeah… listen to. They’re noisy little buggers. I especially like when they have big fat food filled cheeks. Super cute.

-A good book. I’m still working my way through Water for Elephants. I like it, I’ve just been slacking on consistently reading lately. I’m totally happy with any book by Richelle Mead. If I don’t get or find any brilliant ideas for my next book, I’ll definitely get back into where I left off with her stuff.  Other authors have been hit or miss for me. Oh and good grief, when is Dan Brown going to come out with another book? It’s been long enough!

So those are just a few things that make me happy. What about you?

hope you’re feeling 100% soon! that coolatta looks BRIGHT! :D

gummi bears make me happy. Water for Elephants did too, and you should see the movie after the book if you haven’t already… it was good.

I can relate to the spendy candle affinity – I have it too, and I am always buying more even though I have seemingly hundreds. my current favorite, besides Illume and Tocca, is Jimmy Belasco, have you heard of him? soy candles, DELICIOUS scents!! –> http://www.jimmycandle.com/

sunshine makes me happy, when Basil and I can be outdoors on the deck… the squirrels jump through the trees and Basil HOWLS at them :)

It really does look bright huh? I guess I forget how neon it can appear lol. I do definitely plan on seeing the movie at some point but at this rate it’ll be when it’s on dvd. I’ve actually never heard of that brand of candles. I’ll have to check it out. And thanks… on the mend. Getting there slowly.

Well we know what makes me happy: licorice, fro yo, goat cheese, a long run, peanut butter.

But some things you might NOT know are: Arby’s jamocha shake, chocolate covered cinna bears, 7-11 hot chocolate, chips/salsa/guacamole, homegrown basil, and a homemade margarita, yes, those make me REAL happy!

That all sounds totally normal for you :) I was waiting for it to be something off the wall like champagne and caviar cupcakes.

Water for Elephants was our first book club book and I loved it! If you haven’t picked out a new book yet, we’re currently reading Little Bee by Chris Cleave and it’s a pretty good read so far =)

Hope you feel better soon. Sometimes it is just the little things in life that can be a great pick me up. My favorites are snickernut coffee, seeing wild baby animals (we have deer and foxes here) and the smell of grilled steak.
