Whole Wheat Buffalo Chicken Pizza
Loaded buffalo chicken pizza on top of a homemade whole wheat pizza crust. A great addition to any pizza night or party!
Last night I made the mistake of playing a clip from the movie Frozen to my kids on YouTube. They watched it on repeat for probably 15-20 minutes and of course I kind of totally enjoyed it the entire time. Because, quite frankly… it’s the best Disney movie ever and that’s saying a lot. I’ve seen a ton of Disney movies in my many years on this earth. This one tops them all. It has a great message, amazing music and if you happen to see it in 3-D… great effects. If you haven’t seen it yet, do it. Of course I’m seriously tempted to go and see it again in theaters before it’s released on DVD in March. IÂ might be able to resist the urge if I just buy the soundtrack. Is it weird that a grown adult is this excited and in love with a PG (yep almost said G but I checked) rated movie?
In other movie news, we watched the Lone Ranger over the weekend. I was expecting something entirely different. It said intense action, violence and suggestive material. That made me assume it was more like a war movie than it was. I was fully expecting some boring western movie. Boy was I wrong. Typical Johnny Depp all around. If you love his movies, then you’ll enjoy this one.
Now let’s talk pizza. A week from now, millions will be glued to the TV enjoying either grown men tossing around a ball and tackling each other, what we all hope are funny commercials, food or music. Part of that food will be pizza and I hope instead of ordering out, you’ll make this ridiculously easy and tasty pizza at home. you can even trick your family and friends into eating slightly healthier by using a homemade whole wheat crust. It’s a great way to switch things up while still enjoying a favorite food.
I shared a buffalo chicken pizza years ago but wanted to share an updated version. So here you have a loaded buffalo chicken pizza on whole wheat crust featuring creamy dressing and blue cheese crumbles topped off with shredded seasoned buffalo chicken, onions and the ever important whole milk mozzarella. Don’t forget that sprinkle of pepper, it’s a must. Trust me, you’ll forget every buffalo chicken pizza you’ve ever had after trying this one.
Whip this up for your Super Bowl party, or any pizza night! It’s easy and full of amazing flavor.

I definitely need to see Frozen! Jason doesn’t like animated movies so I’ll have to see it when he’s not around ;) this buffalo chicken pizza looks AMAZING and so cheesy and perfect for next Sunday. Totally want!!
You REALLY do! You’d absolutely love it. If you lived closer I’d let you borrow the girls to take them so it wouldn’t seem so odd ;)
Yes, to pizza. We always have homemade pizza as part of the Super Bowl spread. Buffalo Chicken would make my husband swoon. This looks delicious!
Sounds like you need to add it to the menu ;)
This pizza looks incredible. If my husband saw this we would eat nothing else for the rest of the month. :)
Haha! Thanks Pamela :)
I totally have a buffalo chicken creation in the oven as I type…such a perfect combo, especially for game day! Love that this is whole wheat….and Frozen is one of my new fav movies.. SO CUTE!
So funny!! It’s such a classic combo. Can’t wait to see what you’ve created :)
Is it crazy that I just made the same exact pizza but instead of using blue cheese I used ranch and white crust! They look very similar! I am hooked!!
It’s funny how people seem to be either for blue cheese or ranch but rarely both.
I’m totally drooling over this pizza. I don’t watch football, but I’d love a slice with an episode of Mad Men.
Right? Forget the game. Time to dig in. ;)
Mmmmm pizza is my weakness and I love a good buffalo chicken pizza at that! Looks amazing!
Thanks Laurie!! :)
This looks all kinds of amazing! Put extra blue cheese on mine!
Done! :)
I need to see Frozen…I keep hearing how good this one was! And yes, The Lone Ranger was better than I expected! Now this pizza…gorgeous! Although I have to admit I am team ranch here. But I’m totally loving the whole wheat crust option with this!
You really do!! It’s such an adorable movie. We might even be going back to see the sing along version.
This pizza is the bomb diggity!! :) I am loving the whole wheat crust!
This looks so good and Rachel, I have to say I’m really enjoying your photography lately. I have always loved it but just love even more what you’re doing lately! :)
Thanks so much Julie. That’s really sweet :)
I am drooling over this pizza!! Looks so delicious :)
love that first shot! that’s a perfect pizza pic.
Thanks so much! :)
Hi Rachel, thanks so much for sharing! Not a big blue cheese fan, any recommendation for a good substitute? Will be trying this out this week. :)
While less traditional, I’ve heard many use ranch in place of blue cheese for buffalo recipes.
