Slow Cooker Bacon Cheeseburger Soup
An easy and hearty slow cooker soup that tastes just like your favorite bacon cheeseburger!
Happy New Year! The first post of 2015 so clearly we have some end of 2014 recapping to do before moving on, right?
In case you missed it, be sure to check out the top 10 recipes from in 2014!
I have to say, I’m glad vacation is over and school is starting back up. Not because I’m over vacation but this vacation was a major downer. Everyone was sick for the entire time, right up ’till the last moment. Brutal colds and ear infections. Fun fun. I’d officially like to live in a bubble. I swear I’m not going to turn into a germaphobe, but being sick is the pits and happy to put all of that behind us… until next time, because it’s inevitable.
And in entertainment news – I started binge watching White Collar from the beginning. It took me until half way through the first season until I realized one of the main characters is the most recent Superman. What?! (Edited to add: wrong guy, but they look so much alike they could be brothers!) Also, we’re giving True Detective a try. Of course we’re only an episode in so I don’t have much to say about that yet. It always takes a few episodes for me to decide if I really like something or not. That’s what happened with Orange is the New Black. Strange show and definitely takes at least a few episodes to get into, but then you’re hooked on the characters and quirkiness. And of course now I have to wait until something like June for that to start back up. But, in the meantime I have White Collar and all of the new shows starting back up. I like my night downtime, what can I say?! It’s quiet and relaxing. What shows are you most looking forward to starting back up… Downton Abbey, Scandal…?
Something else I love, especially in the Winter… soup. Warm, hearty, comforting soup.
I went on a mission to make a soup that tastes just like a bacon cheeseburger and had 100% success. If you’re looking for the perfect, creamy and flavorful soup that tastes exactly like your favorite bacon cheeseburger… look no further!
This slow cooker bacon cheeseburger soup has a smooth cheesy base and is loaded with all the fixings from beef to onions, peppers and of course the ever essential bacon and pickles (on the side – or rather top) and more!
An absolute must make soup this winter!

Ugh taunting me with that marathon again ;) I’ll get mine one day!
We (and by we, I mean me) were sick for most of vacation, too. Gahhhh. Husband looooooves True Detective. I can’t wait for all the shows to restart. Bachelor tonight!!

I bet they would too!! And I hope you’re feeling better!
Happy New Year! Not fun, but pretty much everyone around me was sick around the holidays!

Ugh so sorry to hear your family was sick all break! This soup looks delicious! My husband is a bacon cheeseburger fanatic so I’ve got to try this soup version out on him!
I hope he loves it! :)
We were sick right before the holiday break. I am a big whiner when sick so it wasn’t pretty! Crossing fingers for no more sickness this season!
This soup looks fantastic. I know my family will love it! Pinned!
Haha. It’s so hard being sick when you are used to doing so much. Hopefully you’re feeling better now!
Mmmm, soup. This looks exactly like comfort in a bowl! Perfect for the ridiculously cold weather we’re having right now!
Thanks so much Stacey! Stay warm!
That would be perfect for this chilly day! Great idea! Cheers!
Thanks so much :)
My husband would go crazy for this soup!
I’m sure he would!! :)
Love this recipe.. already made it once and will be making again..
The most recent superman (Henry Cavill) isn’t actually on White Collar though (thats Matt Bomer although they could be siblings).. if you want to see Supermans TV chops, check out the Tudors
So glad you’ve enjoyed the soup! And you caught me… I meant to go back and edit that out after realizing it and completely forgot! But, they really could be brothers they look so much alike.
I can’t wait to try this soup out! Also, I was wondering if you could perhaps tell me where you got the bowls pictured here? They are ADORABLE :)
I hope you enjoy it! As for the bowls, they’ve been discontinued and are no longer available.
I put chopped lettuce, green onions and diced dill pickles in the bottom of my bowl and pour the hot soup over it then top with croutons. Really does add more burger taste. I add chopped raw veggies to the bottom of a lot of my bowls of soup, try Roman. My Hubby calls it “crunchy soup” and LOVES IT.
So glad you enjoyed it!
I found this recipe on Pinterest and it is SO good! I normally have a love hate relationship with my slow cooker…love the convenience but hate that things usually come out tasting like cafeteria food. Not this. Thank you! You’ve restored my faith in the slow cooker!
I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed the recipe, Natasha! Thank you for sharing!
Made your soup and my family loved it! I left out the tomatoes :( Thanks for the easy and delicious recipe.
So glad you enjoyed it, even without the tomatoes! :) Thanks for sharing, Lisa!
Could this be out on low for 6-8 hours versus the high for 4 hours?
You absolutely could reduce the temperature to low and cook longer. I hope you enjoy it! :)
Very good soup. My boyfriend and I loved it!
So glad to hear it! Thanks for sharing, Julie! :)
Nice cold day in San Diego, making this for dinner tonight! Busy day today, and family all on different schedules, so cooking it on low until I get to the cheese and cream additions. Can’t wait to try it!
Enjoy! :)
It was the best soup ever!
So glad you enjoyed it, Greta! Thanks for coming back to share! :)
I love your site, but your pop up ads are so spammy!! It took me 3 tries to try and get to this recipe. A pop up window kept telling me I had won a new iPhone. I was about to give up.
I’m sorry you had trouble today. This is actually a problem with iPhones/iPads and using safari, not an issue with my site. You can update browsing preferences and clear information under “Settings”. I hope you enjoy the soup!! :)
Thanks Rachel! I just took care of that in my settings – I appreciate your help!
what is the carb count?
I don’t offer that information, but you can find free nutritional calculators online to figure that out.
Can you do this on the stovetop instead of slow cooker? Boil, simmer then add cheese?
If you’re familiar with the process for stovetop soups, then yes. I don’t have timing or specific instructions to offer you though. Good luck!
Its looks good
